The Korean carmaker has announced the official launch in the Middle East and Africa of the brand new Sportage, an SUV carefully crafted to inspire customers with its beautiful interior and exterior design.
The 2023 Kia Sportage marks a new era for one of the Kia brand’s most sought-after models, with a far-reaching and exciting redesign, as the fifth-generation model challenges design standards and takes Sportage identity to a new level while taking its empire heritage four.
Kia’s new design philosophy – ‘Union of Opposites’ – is reflected in the design details of the new Sportage, which consists of five pillars: Pleasure of the Mind, Ability to Progress, Technology for Life, Craving for Calmness, and Courage for Nature , It has profoundly influenced the design of all the brand new Sportage models, embodying the natural world and creating a design identity that is bold, emotional, modern, pure and authentic.
Upgrading the exterior and interior design of four-wheel drive vehicles
The technical drawing combines the main features of the new Sportage, giving it an impressive frontal volume. An extended grille and Kia’s distinctive “teen nose” emblem – which serves as the vehicle’s visual focal point – are linked to the distinctive, futuristic LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) that create solid lines for the striking matrix edge of the Matrix LED. headlights.
The profile of the brand new Sportage remains true to its inherent sporty character, creating an exciting road presence with sleek lines that cut across the glossy and polished surfaces of the bodywork, merging contrasting volumes seamlessly. The first model in the Sportage range has a black roof – but the option to paint the bodywork in a different color is not available with the new model, which helps to emphasize the sporty look and the dynamic C-pillar in the vehicle’s architecture. The addition of a chrome belt that extends from the rear of the brand new Sportage to the D-pillar creates harmonious lines with the rear spoiler, contributing to the car’s sporty proportions.
At the rear, the new Sportage maintains a strong presence on the road with its powerful curved design flowing smoothly to the rear lights, allowing the SUV to embody power and traction on the road. The transparent taillights have a thin horizontal design, which gives the brand new Sportage a surprisingly wide impression from behind.
Depending on specification and model, the 2023 Sportage runs on 17-inch, 18-inch or 19-inch wheels of the best range, with a choice of five different alloy designs, colors and finishes.
The cabin has been designed with both the driver and passengers in mind, providing a unique high-tech environment that is visually impressive, as well as spacious and easy to use. At the center of the new Sportage’s modern cabin is a beautifully sculpted integrated curved screen with a panel that ensures a slim touchscreen and finely detailed air vents. The curved screen extends across the front of the cabin, giving the cabin enormous width and depth.
The 12-inch high-tech touch screen and advanced integrated console serve as the nerve center to connect the driver, passengers, functions and all needs. Both systems are created to be easy to use, and at the same time extremely intuitive, pleasant to the touch. The 12-inch dashboard is equipped with the latest generation full-transistor thin-film LCD screens for impressively clear and accurate graphics.
The ergonomic center console is optimally positioned for the driver and front passenger, offering storage, operating system configuration, and soft touch cup holders and switches, located high on the side next to the transmission knob.
Throughout the cabin, high-quality materials have been used to give customers a luxurious feel, while dynamic color options add dynamism and energy to the atmosphere. The driver and front passenger seats combine innovation and comfort in a sporty, slim design.
Efficiency, power, performance and safety are at the heart of the brand new Sportage
Kia introduces a high-tech 1.6-liter TGDI drivetrain in the new Sportage range, delivering 180 horsepower and 27.0kg / m of torque. The four-cylinder unit achieves improved fuel efficiency through an advanced new combustion process, improved cooling technologies and measures to reduce key frictional power, including an advanced integrated thermal management system and the use of a low-friction ball bearing.
It also houses the latest active safety technologies and advanced driver assistance systems. With safety as a top priority during the development of this model, the fifth generation of the Sportage is one of the safest cars in its class.
Beneath the brand new Sportage’s sleek, contemporary exterior design is a reinforced, lightweight chassis with high torsional rigidity. The brand new Sportage has several safety and chassis adjustment applications, including driver airbag, passenger airbag, side airbags and lower side airbags.
The Kia Sportage’s in-house Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology helps avoid potential hazards, and fully protects occupants and other road users on each trip. As part of this package, the brand new Sportage features the leading Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), which helps avoid collisions with objects in front of the vehicle while driving.
When the lane shift signal is on, if there is a risk of hitting a rear vehicle, the Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) will provide a warning to the driver. After the warning, if the risk of a collision increases, the BCA effectively takes control of the Sportage to help avoid collision. The BCA is also active in situations such as parallel parking maneuvers, which further help to avoid collisions with vehicles behind. A Blind Spot View Monitor (BVM) has also been included with all new Sportage grades to further enhance safety and driver visibility when changing lanes by displaying a real-time image of the rear of the vehicle in the instrument cluster.
The launch will take place independently in each regional market through the month of April. More information on prices and specifications in each market will be provided in due course.
