In his speech, the Prime Minister said: “This issue has become a top priority, especially in the current circumstances facing Lebanon, and the need to be strict in controlling this sector for a number of reasons, the most prominent of which are is the citizen’s safety, the reputation of the productive sectors, and the role of ministries and competent departments in dealing with any shortcoming in this file What we are dealing with today represents an essential step in terms of the operational translation of the provisions of the Food Safety Act in Lebanon, which was implemented in our previous government, and also requires the establishment of the Lebanese Food Safety Authority, agreement on an operational mechanism for work and monitoring, and compliance with international food safety treaties, especially those related to health. measures and technical restrictions on trade.
He added: “This file has been followed by our government since day one until we have achieved what we are going to announce today, provided that the future government that will be formed after the election is the operational translation of all the legal and administrative expeditions.
