Mosleh Al-Tarawneh, “Dean of the Faculty of Law”, opened the activities of the university cinema at the Movenpick Hotel – Amman with the premiere of the movie “Mosul 980” nominated for the Oscar on Saturday evening 14 May 2022 , an event organized and hosted by Al-Ahliyya Amman University represented by the College of Architecture and Design / Department of Film, Television and Theater Design in coordination with the Global Engagement Center and in partnership with Ishtar Company “Iraq” for film production.
The event was attended by His Excellency Waseem Al-Tamimi, the Cultural Adviser at the Iraqi Embassy in Amman, representatives of the Iraqi community in Jordan, representatives of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan, and a number of professional media and directors working in the field of the movie.
Dr. Al-Tarawneh delivered the President’s speech in which he welcomed the participants in this event, which is added to the achievements of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the pioneer of private education in Jordan and the Arab world. This institution has reached advanced ranks. in many local, regional, and international academic classifications, the most recent of which was the Times International classification. The University Impact Rankings were released on Wednesday, 27-4-2022, dealing with the impact of international universities on their local communities and the achievement of global sustainability according to United Nations standards. On the side of prof. dr. Abd al-Salam al-Shboul, dean of the College of Architecture and Design at the university, spoke in a speech in which he said: The College of Architecture and Design is one of the creative titles of the Al-Ahliyya Amman University, has embraced creativity since its inception in the academic year (2010-2011) and provided the appropriate environment for its care. As a human act, it always needs an attractive atmosphere or an environment that embraces it. the College of Architecture and Design, our doors are open to all who are interested in the creative matter.We offer them all kinds of support, which contributes to the development of creative thinking skills for our students.
He added: To achieve this, the college offers five academic programs at the bachelor’s level, the first in interior design, the second in graphic design, the third in architecture, the fourth in film, television and theater design, and the fifth in multimedia design, and the college has also instituted a master’s program in interior design. From the academic year 2019-2020, it is the first of its kind at the level of all Jordanian universities.
He emphasized the college administration’s efforts, within a range of projects and visions for the future, to innovate new tools in teaching and learning, and to achieve a high level of university education in the disciplines offered by the college, supported by the university administration’s acumen. to attract specialized education cadres with competence and experience, as the college did.To prepare study plans that are compatible with the conditions and variables of the times and requirements of the labor market, in order to achieve its vision, mission and goals. , stemming from the vision, mission and goals of the university and to achieve local and international accreditations, which give a strong indication of the level of our graduates, their efficiency and their willingness to contribute effectively to the labor market for development and prosperity of our societies.
