Today, dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, inaugurated the Qalhana Post Office, after developing it and providing it with the latest systems and technological solutions to provide all financial, postal and public services to citizens, as part of a plan to close post offices in villages developed for a decent life. They were received by dr. Sherif Farouk, head of the National Postal Authority.

The Qalhana Post Office is located on an area of ​​120 square meters, has 6 windows and serves almost 70,000 citizens.

The opening comes within the framework of dr. Amr Talaat’s visit to Fayoum Governor; Where he inaugurated and inspected a number of projects of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology under the initiative of a decent life in the villages of Fayoum Governor.

In a related context; Dr. Amr Talaat and the governor inaugurated the main post office of Tamiya and the El Goun post office, after developing them and providing them with the latest technological systems and solutions to provide all financial, postal and government services to citizens.

Tamiya’s main post office is located on an area of ​​400 square meters and has 10 windows serving about 130 000 citizens, and is equipped with an automatic teller machine (ATM), while the “El-Joon” post office on an area of ​​150 square meters square meters and has 13 windows to provide services to citizens. It serves nearly 65,000 citizens, and is equipped with two ATMs.

It is noteworthy that the Fayoum Postal District has 110 post offices distributed by the governor to provide all services in full to citizens.

Dr. Sherif Farouk said that the completion figures in the plan to develop post offices at the level of the Republic are higher than the set implementation rates, as the development of 3 345 post offices at the level of the Republic has been completed with a performance. rate of 80%, noting that the National Postal Authority has already begun the implementation of the project to develop and modernize post offices at the level of the Republic in accordance with the latest international standards in this field with the aim of of providing services to citizens so that every citizen obtains all postal, financial and community services in a proper and easy manner.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is implementing a number of technological projects to develop the information infrastructure and disseminate digital culture in the towns of the Decent Life Initiative at the level of the Republic. The first phase of the initiative includes parallel work on four main axes: towns connected by fiber optic cables to increase the efficiency of Internet services for about one million homes, at a cost of about 5.8 billion pounds, the development of about 839 post points, development of 11 distribution centers and the provision of post offices of teller machines, automatically, in addition to improving the quality of communication services by providing towns with mobile network stations; As well as work on digital literacy and capacity building in the field of information technology, and digital economic empowerment for the people of towns for a decent life.

During his tour of the governor; Dr. Amr Talaat and the governor of Fayoum inspected the development work of the Telecom Egypt network in the village of Qalhana in the Etsa center in Fayoum governor, within the project to lay fiber optic cables in the villages of the Good Life Initiative. was received by Eng Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt and a number of company leaders in the governor.

Dr. Amr Talaat thanked all the workers involved in the implementation of the telecommunications infrastructure development work and praised their efforts; At the same time, he stressed the need to complete all projects within the specified period for each project, and in accordance with the latest international standards.

Dr. Amr Talaat referred to the government’s vision of the importance of the information infrastructure as one of the basic ingredients for providing a decent life for citizens. It represents the lifeblood of all the processes that support the creation of a digital society and the provision of services in simple, fast and high quality ways.

Eng Adel Hamed stated that the Telecom Egypt network is planned in the village of “Qalhana”, with a total capacity of 1,520 lines and 7 huts. With a total number of 370 boxes, the center serves 217 customers in addition to 8 commercial and 10 state boxes.

During his tour; Dr. Amr Talaat and dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari attended a symposium on digital and financial education for citizens in Qalhana village. It is within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to disseminate digital culture and work to bring about financial and digital inclusion for citizens in towns for a decent life.

The seminar witnessed a presentation by one of the participants who benefited from the ministry’s training programs on her experience in handling the services of the digital Egypt platform.

Dr. Amr Talaat explained that the axis of digital capacity building is one of the most important axes of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology projects in a humane life, given the importance of enabling villagers to use digital means to digital government services obtain, and to help young people to receive training in various disciplines; He addressed his greetings and appreciation to the Fayoum women who attended the symposium, emphasizing his appreciation for the Egyptian woman who represents the backbone of society.
