Vacheron Constantin begins the second cycle of the “One of a Few” mentorship program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Following the huge success and international recognition it saw in the first cycle of his mentoring program “One of the Few” in the UAE in 2020, Vacheron Constantin would like to announce the launch of the second cycle of this educational initiative in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . Arabia, this time in collaboration with Dar Al-Hekma University in Jeddah.

Guided experience

The mentorship tour begins on May 15 with a 3-week recruitment period, where the selected female students will have the opportunity to apply through the university’s website for an opportunity to participate among the six finalists. Once selected, students gain a unique off-campus experience, to be mentored by the inspiring and successful Saudi Mentor based on their focus and desired career journey.
The program enables students to embark on an educational journey to take decisive steps to explore their career aspirations and break down barriers by discovering the truth about their field of study and developing their current knowledge and skills.

Upon successful completion of the orientation phase of the “One of the Minor” mentoring program, students have the opportunity to enter an internship program at Vacheron Constantin or any other Richemont group home.

Six women mentors and inspirations

With a record of success and ambition within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the six inspiring women have agreed to contribute to the mentorship program. They enjoy diverse and successful career paths and seek to highlight the dominant business sectors and industries:

Shahd Alshehail

1. Shahd Al-Shuhail – Entrepreneur, and co-founder of the high and conservative fashion label Abadieh, which combines heritage, ethics and fashion in a sustainable way.

Aya Al-Bitar

2. Aya Al-Bitar – Saudi product and furniture designer and founder of “Aya Art Al Hayat” house. Through her work, Aya blends tradition and modernity to create products that bridge the cultures of East and West.

Eamonn Shakur

3. Eamonn Shakur – Founder and CEO of Saudi Arabia’s first technology accelerator specifically designed for Saudi female technology leaders: Blossom. From Silicon Valley to Saudi Arabia, the Optical Center is developing a strong community for Saudi entrepreneurs by providing them with a network, resources, knowledge and access to finance.

Basma Alkhereiji

4. Basma Al-Khuraiji – Chef and Entrepreneur. The Social Kitchen Foundation and Social Group. She is the chair of the Saudi Gastronomy Initiative, a program launched by the Saudi Ministry of Culture aimed at introducing local Saudi cuisine to the world.

Nora Al Dabal

5. Nora Al-Dabal – Director of Artistic and Cultural Programs at the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate. Noura believes in the importance of establishing cultural hubs for creativity and artistic exchange. She has developed several art workshops, including the “Desert X” exhibition, which, by bringing it to AlUla, has helped establish a cultural dialogue between Saudi artists and other regions.

Nouf Al Mojil

6. Nouf Al Mojel – Strategic Analyst and CEO of the Eastern Region Social Responsibility Council. Nouf’s experience lies in the field of business sustainability, which measures social entrepreneurship projects. Apart from her career, Nouf is passionate about social urbanization, innovation and design.

Last year’s achievements

Through the six-month educational experience, the students explored a range of creative topics and areas in hopes of starting work on their own professional projects. Maitha Al Khazraji was led by restaurateur Salama Al Shamsi to open her own bakery. Maha Saeed worked with Emirati fashion designer Rafia Hilal Bin Dari to design her local clothing collection. Dana Al Daen was inspired by artist and author Alia Al Shamsi to showcase her partial nature photography. Hind Al Khoury has teamed up with fashion designer Latifa Al Gurg to create her own sports range. Fatima Al Kathiri had the opportunity to develop her marketing and communication skills with the help of jewelry designer Noura Shawky. Finally, Ghala Abul Lahem had to apply her skills in interior design for corporate events and developed through the daily mentorship of Hala Al Gergawi, CEO and founder of Tea Before Noon. The closing ceremony of the mentorship program was held on June 8, 2020 at the Etihad Museum in Dubai.
To encourage the students and congratulate them on their achievements, Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi attended it and gave a warm speech addressed to the six pupils and the participants. The students also revealed their achievements through an exhibition held during the ceremony.

Following the successful completion of the Mentorship Program, one of the few in the UAE, the female students are currently beginning their internships with Vacheron Constantin and other roles in the Richemont Group.
