Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the signing ceremony of 10 memoranda of understanding with major international companies specializing in the field of information technology to participate in the implementation of the “Ashbal Egypt Digital” initiative launched by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

The initiative aims to prepare a leading generation of outstanding schoolchildren who are able to anticipate the future and use modern technology in various fields and applications of information technology to become young people and active citizens in building a digital society that keeps pace with the developments of the times and the demands of the future locally and globally.

The Memoranda of Understanding also aims to collaborate with these international companies in the field of training track preparation, providing virtual platforms and laboratories in related technological disciplines, technological awareness, and organizing online seminars for students of the digital “Ashbal Egypt” initiative, in addition to providing the opportunity for leading students to participate in competitions and field visits to the headquarters of these Companies, as well as collaboration in the training of the trainers responsible for implementing the initiative and the awarding of a training certificate in the relevant disciplines, as well as the organization of activities for outstanding students of the initiative, whether cultural, educational or development-oriented.

The Ashbal Egypt Digital Initiative is a free grant provided by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to outstanding students enrolled in the first preparatory degree for the second secondary degree in all Egyptian schools in the academic year 2022/2023, for periods ranging from one to five years, depending on the age and educational level of the applicants. Students wishing to join the initiative must meet the application requirements and admission criteria for each academic year.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, confirmed that the “Ashbal Egypt Digital” initiative is a national initiative that seeks to achieve a strategic goal for the state, which is “investing in people”. Note that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology launched the initiative with investments of $ 25 million over five years to train 3,000 students each year; He explained that the initiative aims to select a group of outstanding schoolchildren and prepare them to make a qualitative leap in the communications and information technology industry in Egypt, and to explore new horizons in this field in line with the requirements of the future and to be qualified to lead the technological process and Egypt’s digital projects.

Dr. Amr Talaat added that the initiative provides opportunities for young people to develop their technological skills and discover their creative abilities at an early age. He pointed out that the methodology for implementing the capacity building strategy implemented by the Ministry is based on several pillars, including comprehensiveness to cover all segments of society at different age stages, diversity of specializations and keeping pace with the labor market , and the use of hybrid education mechanisms through the integration between the traditional education model and digital distance education to provide training throughout the republic.

Dr. Amr Talaat pointed out that this collaboration consolidates one of the initiative’s goals, which is to build long-term partnerships with international and local companies specializing in information technology, to hone the skills of students joining the initiative. He explained that one of the key ingredients for the success of the ICT sector is the partnership between government and private sectors in the implementation of ICT initiatives and projects aimed at promoting the ICT industry.

Dr. Amr Talaat thanked all industry partners for what they will provide to improve students’ abilities and their zeal to take part in initiatives aimed at achieving development and laying the foundations for the digital economy.

The initiative follows the curriculum of developing the skills of school learners in line with the latest global developments in various technological fields such as: software development, digital arts, networks and information security, computer science and artificial intelligence, robotics and embedded systems. to build personal, life and leadership skills, as well as to implement scientific, cultural and social activities To build a leading Egyptian personality capable of communicating with future sciences.

The initiative provides an interactive, participatory educational environment that stimulates creativity, excellence and innovation among young people by providing scientific and practical training in collaboration with local and international companies and institutions specializing in various technological sciences.

The initiative offers students enrolled in it partial scholarships from specialized technological universities affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for outstanding students who will complete the study years in the initiative, in addition to prizes in kind for outstanding students and certificates approved by the ministry every year.It also offers opportunities to participate in local and international technology competitions.

From his side; Dr. Hoda Baraka, Adviser to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for the development of technological skills, explained that the Digital Misr initiative is a continuation of the efforts and efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to promote a new generation of young people prepare. people trained in a practical and unconventional way in the field of communication and information technology. She stressed that the initiative is characterized by targeting an age group who have a passion for learning the latest technology in the field of technology, a category that prepares the core for future youth who will support Egypt’s digital projects.

Memoranda of Understanding included; Collaboration with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, VMware, Dell Technologies, Google, IBM, Valeo, Cisco and Vodafone Foundation Egypt, and Huawei.
