Cairo – Mubasher: Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the signing ceremony of 10 memoranda of understanding with major international companies specializing in information technology to participate in the implementation of the “Ashbal Egypt Digital” initiative provided by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with the aim of preparing a leading generation of outstanding school students to anticipate the future and use modern technologies in the various fields and applications of information technology to become young people and active citizens in construction of a digital society that keeps pace locally and globally with the developments of the times and the demands of the future.
The memoranda of understanding included collaboration with companies: Vodafone Egypt, Amazon Web Services, Huawei, Microsoft, VMware, Dell Technologies, Google, andIBMValeo and Cisco, according to a press release.
The Memoranda of Understanding aims to partner with these international companies in the field of training track preparation, providing virtual platforms and laboratories in related technology disciplines, technology awareness, and organizing webinars for Digital students. Egypt initiative, in addition to the opportunity for leading students to participate in competitions and field visits to the headquarters of these companies. The Ashbal Egypt Digital Initiative is a free grant provided by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to outstanding students enrolled in the first preparatory degree for the second secondary degree in all Egyptian schools in the academic year 2022/2023, and for periods ranging from one to five years according to the age and educational level of the applicants, provided that students wishing to join the initiative must meet the application requirements and admission criteria for each academic year.
In this context, Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized that the “Ashbab Egypt Digital” initiative is a national initiative that seeks to achieve a strategic goal for the state, which is “investing in people”, and notes that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has launched the initiative with investments of $ 25 million over five years. To train 3,000 students each year.
The Minister explained that the initiative is aimed at selecting a group of outstanding school pupils and preparing them to make a qualitative leap in the communications and information technology industry in Egypt, and to explore new horizons in this field accordingly. with the requirements of the future and to be qualified to lead the technological process and Egypt’s digital projects..
Amr Talaat added that the initiative provides opportunities for young people to develop their technological skills and discover their creative abilities at an early age, pointing out that the methodology for implementing the capacity building strategy implemented by the Ministry on various pillars based, including comprehensiveness. to cover all segments of society at different age stages, to diversify specializations and keep pace with the labor market, and to integrate the use of hybrid education mechanisms through the traditional education model and digital distance education to provide training throughout the Republic.
Amr Talaat pointed out that this collaboration consolidates one of the goals of the initiative, which is to build long-term partnerships with international and local companies specializing in information technology to hone the skills of students joining the initiative, and explains that one of the key elements of the success of the communications and information technology sector is the partnership between the public and private sectors in the implementation of sector initiatives and projects aimed at promoting the ICT industry.
The initiative follows the curriculum of developing the skills of school pupils in line with the latest global developments in various technological fields, such as: software development, digital arts, networks and information security, computer science and artificial intelligence, robotics and embedded systems, in addition to build personal, life and leadership skills, as well as the implementation of scientific, cultural and social activities to build The leading Egyptian figure capable of communicating with future sciences.
The initiative provides an interactive, participatory educational environment that stimulates creativity, excellence and innovation among young people by providing scientific and practical training in collaboration with local and international companies and institutions specializing in various technological sciences..
