House debates over Capitol riots begin Jan. 6 during rush hour

The House Committee investigating the attack on the Capitol on Thursday, January 6, 2021, opened a series of debates with a rare rush hour session beginning at 8:00 PM ET. For more than a year, the commission interviewed more than 1,000 witnesses to find out what led to the riots, what happened at the Capitol and how the White House responded. One possible topic of discussion would be then-President Donald Trump’s responsibility for the attack, in which a mob cheated the building and temporarily barred Congress from counting the ballots for voters confirming Joe Biden’s victory over Trump in 2020. The election of former President Mike Pence to reject certain voters in the country and divert Elections to Trump. Major news networks such as CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC and ABC News – but not Fox News – will broadcast the talk live.
