Your career path is multi-path; What led you to design interiors in the UAE?

I grew up in Wisconsin, USA; I was and still am motivated by a sense of creativity, in every job I do, noting that I have repeatedly changed the workplace and its tracks, as well as the creative culture of the places I work. Nowadays, I can say that I have designed offices, homes and spaces in the right, flawless way, paying attention to every detail, since 2015, when I seized a design opportunity within the UAE. At this address I found my passion, and I have not looked back since! I am proud that I am not only interested in designing the clients’ interiors, but also in making friends with them.

What is the impact of Dubai on your business, in terms of design?
I love Dubai; Especially the fast pace of his days, his diversity and his attractive charm. The city is a playground that allows designers to get creative!

Gravity and longevity

It is inevitable to frame designs in a framework characterized by attractiveness, development and longevity, according to the designer

Your residential design projects look contemporary, practical and attractive in appearance; Do you follow current trends in decoration?

Being a contemporary woman, current trends represent an area for me to test, but it is inevitable to frame designs in a framework characterized by attractiveness, development and longevity.

After observing your project history, it seems to me that the fun side of your personality is not lost on it. Is it meant to be?
I have to admit that my creative juices overwhelm projects, not that I do not listen to clients to find the design that best suits their lifestyle. I must also admit that I love posh and elegant style, but who said elegance can not be playful?

“emotional song”

Do you prefer to work on the design of residential or commercial projects?

In my opinion, the feeling of comfort associated with staying at home in the workplace should be repeated, while the interior decoration of the corporate identity should of course be respected, without losing sight of functionality, elegance and ease of use. At the same time, I must admit that I prefer to work on residential interiors as it is very “personal” and allows me to get to know their owners more, infiltrate their minds, understand them and according to their interests and preferences to see. For example, in the presence of children in the house, care must be taken to secure the balconies with iron. In my opinion, the commercial design looks like a suspense story, while the residential design looks like an “emotional song”.

Your design creations can be found in unexpected places, such as: a garage. How do you approach the interior?
The design of a garage is not very common, but I enjoyed working on this project, especially with the use of a burst of color, in a place that most people would not think of, around the garage to bring to life … In terms of the approach to the interior; Before I let my mind take over and let creativity flourish, I step back and put myself in the entrepreneur’s shoes. Everyone has their own unique personality and dreams. My goal is for the client to love his space every time he enters it! I give my opinion to him, surprise him from time to time with detail, but space will always learn. Interior design will be what he has always wanted.

The use of gray is common in your projects; Is gray still in vogue? What do the colors mean to you?

The use of gray is repeated in the designer’s work

Gray belongs in the primary color palette, and it allows me to play around with it while I work on the design, so I like that. Gray is a timeless color; It plays a role in highlighting the other colors in the design, and it also contributes to looking light to express elegance. On top of that, it is easy to clean, a feature that housewives crave.

Proud of the staff

Your design “studio” is honored with awards. How can you survive, in Dubai’s competitive environment?

The team at AW Interiors work hard to win awards, and everyone on the team puts time, energy and effort into the interiors designed by The Studio. It therefore comes as a great honor to acknowledge this. I do not take it for granted. So proud of my team whose members really do their best, every opportunity!
