Rankings, TV and broadcast information, Centurion Club day 3 results after Bryson DeChambeau joined the Rebel Tour – Yalla Match

Leaf’s tour of golf changes the sports scene

Day 3 of the opening powered by Saudi Leaf Golf event is here with the first winner to be crowned on the Rebel Tour. Former Masters champion Charles Schwarzel grabbed the lead and went straight into the house, ahead of his compatriot and teammate Stinger Henny de Plessis. Dustin Johnson’s fee fell a little short, but the former world number one is still in contention, with the winner taking home $ 4 million.

The final day of play comes as more players are expected to jump off the PGA Tour. Bryson DeChambeau was announced on Friday as the youngest star to join the breakaway series and this followed confirmation from the PGA Tour that Rebel players participating in this event or any future LIV golf event were immediately suspended.

The astonishing news entrenched both sides in a battle that threatens to change the sport as we know it and was welcomed by players like Rory McIlroy, who remained committed to the PGA. It came in the form of Ian Poulter, one of the seventeen golfers approved by the PGA Tour, who declared his intention to appeal against the suspension. “It does not make sense,” Poulter said. I did not resign from my membership because I did not feel I had done anything wrong. I’ve been playing around the world for 25 years. It’s no different … It’s a power struggle and it’s disappointing. ” Follow all the action from the last day of the controversial tour’s opening event below:

What is the prize fund?

Each regular season event will have a prize pool of $ 25 million – each player on the field receives a discount, with a $ 4 million guarantee for first place and $ 120,000 for last place. Of the $ 25 million, $ 5 million will be split between the top three teams.

The top three players in the overall singles tournament will receive a $ 30 million split, with the overall champion receiving $ 18 million, the runner-up $ 8 million and the third place $ 4 million.

The prize money for the season-end team championship is $ 50 million, with the winning team splitting $ 16 million and the team finishing last receiving $ 1 million. Each player gets 25 percent of the pieces.

In comparison, the winner of the PGA Championship, one of the four major golf teams, will receive $ 3 million out of a total prize money of $ 15 million.

How will the season work?

The LIV Golf London event at the Centurion Club is the first of seven ‘regular season’ events taking place in its first year, with this year’s season-end team tournament concluding as the last event of the season.

The team tournament will place all 12 teams in the rankings, a four-day knockout cycle will be held using match points to determine the winner, and the tournament match will take place on the last day.

An individual champion will also be crowned using the points accumulated during the seven “regular season” events.

What are the rules?

LIV Golf Series events will take place over three days and 54 holes, rather than the traditional four-day events with 72 holes. There will also be no reduction, so the 48 players starting the week will play all three rounds.

There will also be individual and team competitions in the same event. In the individual competition, the player with the lowest score on 54 holes will win as usual.

However, the team competition will consist of 12 teams of four players, with the team captains selecting teams using the “Draft Snake” ahead of the Centurion club’s opening event. Teams also want their own unique names and logos.

In terms of scoring, the two individual best scores in the team’s total will be counted during the first two rounds, with the three best points combined in the third and final round. The team with the lowest total points at the end of the third round will be the winner.

What is Leaf Golf?

Reports of a new breakaway league first surfaced in 2019, but have increased in recent years as two-time World Open champion Greg Norman has become the face of the Saudi-backed LIV golf series as its chief executive.

With the Saudi Public Investment Fund financing the series, there is a clear link with the government of Saudi Arabia, whose human rights record has been criticized by groups such as Amnesty International.

But what has long been seen as a compromise threat to the traditional PGA Tour and DP World no longer forms something like the LIV golf series, which also contains new competition rules and what tournament organizers say is an “exciting” new format is.

The former US Open champion and eight-time PGA Tour winner joins Dustin Johnson, another Phil Mickelson to switch to the Saudi-backed dissident series.

The PGA Tour on Thursday confirmed that all players currently playing in the opening match in St Albans this week and anyone playing in future matches will be suspended indefinitely.

“Bryson DeChambeau is an exciting addition to the super-charged LIV Golf game. He is passionate about the sport, innovative in his approach and committed to pushing boundaries in the pursuit of excellence, said Greg Norman, CEO of LIV Golf, at the announcement.
