Sohag University today organized the activities of the first scientific forum, organized by Students for Egypt in collaboration with the Technology Valley at the university, and in partnership with the Al-Azhar International Center for Forensic Astronomy and Space Sciences at the Islamic Research Academy, under the title “Astronomy and Space Technology for Environmental and Climate Issues, A Legitimate Scientific Vision.” Under the protection of the Great Imam, Dr. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Major General Tarek El-Feki, Governor of Sohag, dr. Mustafa Abdel-Khaleq, president of the University, and dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, Vice President of the University of Postgraduate Studies and Research and Student Leader for Egypt.

It took place at the International Conference Center at the university’s new headquarters, and in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Nazir Ayyad, Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, Dr. Muhammad Afifi al-Qusi, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, Anba Jeremiah, the Orthodox General Bishop and Assistant Secretary of the Egyptian Family Home, and Dr. Muhammad al-Sherbiny, Vice President of Al-Azhar University, Dr. Hassan Salah Al-Saghir, Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, the Accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary-General of the University, dr. Kamal Muhammad Talab, Director of the Valley of Science and Technology and General Coordinator of the Forum, Muhammad Hassan, President of the University Student Union, and a group of Sheikhs, male and female ministers, deans and deans of faculties, faculty members and deputies Various ministries, university employees and students.

Mustafa Abdel-Khaleq, President of the University, said that the forum is one of the first scientific forums in Egyptian universities, and it comes within the framework of sustainable development goals and preparations to host the “COP 27” climate summit , which is an important step during the era of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at local, regional and international level, to play the scientific, cultural, advocacy and awareness role on community issues, the most important of which is climate change. perform to show the impact of the use of space technology on climate change and the resulting atmospheric and cosmic phenomena and their impact on different times of worship around the world.

At the beginning of his speech, dr. Hassan Al-Noamani welcomed the conference members, guests and all attendees and noted the importance of the conference and the axes it discusses in relation to the climate change crisis and its causes, and aims to link religion and science and the support of religious scientists to experts in all fields, with the hope that the conference will end with outputs that will help preserve the planet’s climate and the future of future generations.

In the same context, dr. Hassan Salah al-Saghir talked about the conference embodying the Egyptian family, where the clergy are in solidarity with the men of science because there is a correlation between the legal verdict and the scientific data, where we ask a lot about the verdict of religion in the impact of cosmic phenomena on the different times of prayer, for example, Therefore, it is necessary to have scientific data to give fatwas an accurate legal verdict.

Dr. Muhammad Afifi al-Qusi said that the issue of climate change is a global issue because of its impact on human lives and other beings inhabiting the planet, so we must unite to face the consequences that harm the environment and human future . the most important of which is global warming and the release of gases and fumes that cause it. emphasizes that Egypt is currently manufacturing a satellite to monitor and study climate change and its causes.

Dr. Muhammad Abu Zaid, the general coordinator of the Egyptian Family House, in turn explained that the Egyptian political leadership had taken many initiatives to improve the quality of life for the citizen, and directed the building and investment in man to move. forward in achieving progress and development, by orienting the future and facing the phenomena that affect its existence.Referring to the saying of Al-Farouq Omar Ibn Al-Khattab (Do not stop your children with your knowledge , because they were created for a time different from your time), so it is necessary to build the character and educate the Egyptian citizen and provide him with various sciences and technical and technological developments, in addition to making him aware of the effects of climate change and the corruption it causes. causes for the country and the threat to the lives of contemporaries For these phenomena and for future generations as well.

At the beginning of his speech, Anba Jeremiah congratulated the launch of the scientific conference recognizing the interdependence of science and religion, and reaffirmed the zeal of the state in all its categories to take care of the level of Egypt, for it is the jewel of the world and its beating heart, and it preserves the balance of the world, so it carries the banner of awareness of the dangers of contemporary climate change and its impact on the world. Since it is the role of religion to educate people about the consequences of these changes, which are among the root causes of wrong human behavior, and their pollution to its surrounding environment and the destruction it causes to what God created around him of plants and animals, as its action a change in temperatures and the subsequent heat waves, fires, forests, drought, global warming and the melting of polar ice, the returning water and its impact on agriculture, the thermal expansion of oceans and rivers, floods and tsunamis, which cause the destruction of the planet and affect human health, slow down the development process and increase poverty rates, therefore we must join hands to preserve the world with which God has entrusted us.

Dr. Muhammad Nazeer Ayyad said that the forum we convened today is aimed at integrating religious sciences and the sciences of nature and life within the framework of sustainable development goals, and at the relationship of Islam to the development and conservation of its components. of life. If civilization is an interaction between man, the universe and time, Islam has made these elements foundations for the process of succession and preservation of the earth and the prevention of all forms of corruption in it, so the survival of life on earth is linked to the presence of a sect that prohibits corruption. In it, by emphasizing that all the goals of development and preservation of the components of life were preceded by the Holy Quran and the purified Sunnah by invoking and establishing them. What has been influenced by the nation’s scholars is that “wherever the interest of the people is found, then is God’s law.”

He added that the relationship between the religious sciences and the natural and life sciences is an inseparable and synergistic relationship, for the purposes of Sharia and the interests considered at their “necessary, necessary and improved” levels are sources of care of public interest. , and within the scope of that responsibility, justice and fairness for the environment are indispensable, and their basis is the management of natural resources and their distribution in fairness because they have been used for all without exception, for animals, plants and therefore environmental jurisprudence based on a set of basic components, which in their entirety play an effective role in preserving the capabilities of the environment, which is a right for all generations.

Dr. Kamal Mohamed Talab indicated that the forum includes several sessions that discussed a number of themes, including the role of astronomy and space technology in facing climate change and achieving sustainable development goals, and the role of religions and divine messages regarding preserving the environment, in addition to discussing the role of Egyptian and Arab youth in supporting countries’ climate change initiatives, policies and legal procedures to protect the environment to combat climate change.

It is worth mentioning that a short documentary about human behavior and its impact on the climate was shown, and on the sidelines of the conference is a book show organized by Al-Azhar as a gift to that university opened.
