The report said that the university’s study regulations have been completed, as well as the completion of all construction and equipment for the university, according to the set schedule, as well as the preparation of all classrooms and an increase in their number. new academic year 2022/2023.
Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media adviser and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said that East Port Said University of Technology is located on an area of 70,140 square meters and at a total cost of 645.7 million pounds, divided as follows: (512.7 million pounds for construction, 35 million pounds for furniture, 40 million pounds for laboratories). , £ 58 million for the information infrastructure), and the construction and all university buildings were completed, as well as the completion of the main buildings and interior finishes.
The official spokesperson explained that East Port Said University of Technology will offer new study programs that serve the industry in the surrounding geographical area, including (wood industry technology – food industry technology – shipping and port technology – hotel services technology – tourism and travel services technology).
The official spokesman added that all the university’s requirements have been met, including furniture, equipment and equipment for laboratories and workshops, as well as the components of the information infrastructure, to be compatible with its study programs, and to be equipped with the latest equipment needed for laboratories and research centers, which is in line with the functional and educational needs of the new programs that will be offered at the university. Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar explained that the university is entering the second phase of technological universities established by the Ministry of Higher Education, which includes the establishment of 6 new technological universities, namely: (Al Gharbia University of Technology – Sixth October University of Technology – Sponsor El Arab University of Technology – East Port Said University of Technology – New Assiut University of Technology – New Taiba University of Technology) at a total cost of the six universities amounted to £ 3.5 billion.
The new technological universities offer study programs that serve the industry in each geographical region, including: metallurgical, wood, engineering, electronics, electrical, spinning and weaving industries, food industries, tourism and transportation. High school students are accepted with 20% and diploma. students are three years, five years or equivalent, as well as graduates of intermediate institutes with 80% of the total number of admissions, and everyone who wants to enroll at technological universities must pass admission tests.
The official spokesperson added that technological universities grant the following scientific degrees: (professional higher diploma, professional bachelor’s degree, professional master’s degree and professional doctoral degree) in technology in the specialization, and the Supreme Council of Universities, based on the presentation of the Supreme Council for Technological Education, determines the study requirements for each scientific degree, and all matters related to it.
