Egypt chairs the meeting of the 50th session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information

Today, the meeting of the (50th) regular session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information was held today, chaired by Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, hosted and led by Egypt. under the umbrella of the League of Arab States, with the participation of Ambassador Dr. Khaled Wali, Director of the Department of Communications and Information Technology of the League of Arab States, in the presence of representatives of member states. In the executive office, which includes the countries: the Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Tunisia, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Republic of Yemen and Palestine, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the Smart Village.

In his speech at the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Amr Talaat stressed that the rapid technological developments necessitate the need to strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation between member states and the exchange of experiences and visions to maximize the role of communication, information technology and post in the Arab countries in order to keep pace with technological progress on an ongoing basis, and to improve capabilities to address global challenges. Dr. Amr Talaat pointed out that months ago Egypt handed over the torch of the Arab digital capital to the Sultanate of Oman within the framework of choosing Muscat as the Arab digital capital for 2022 to succeed the new administrative capital.
