The world of journalism that makes you happy when you lose your memory | Ali Al Sarraf

You only need a short memory, and everything is perfect, so don’t tire yourself with thinking.

There are ready-made templates used by the Western press in all circumstances and conditions. And if you could forget the previous uses of these templates, you will be much happier. What’s more, your favorite newspaper is still a favorite and you wouldn’t think that it would cheat you or sell you the same thing over and over after a while.

If your “favorite newspaper” wants to demonize someone, it pulls out of the drawer a list of topics in which you only have to change the names, images and editorial texts. It looks new as if you haven’t read it before.

When there were preparations for the invasion of Iraq, the Western press took out a list of topics from that drawer, some of which said that Saddam Hussein was sick with cancer and would soon die, and other articles that talked about intelligence information which the existence of a plot to overthrow him, and a few others talked about Saddam’s secret relations with three-quarters of Iraqi women, or about it, and about secret sons living in unknown places with their mothers in these whether that country is distributed. You will of course find articles about bank accounts he holds in Western banks containing billions of dollars that have been seized.

◙ The allegations of press freedom itself must be investigated. The Western press follows the foreign policy of their countries, regardless of whether it involves crimes or not

All these templates are now used when talking about Vladimir Putin. And almost no Western newspaper is without a subject of this kind, even to wonder how these newspapers were able to obtain information about secret wives, medical records, account numbers abroad, companies and palaces in the distant mountains, and others on the underside. of the valleys.

And to add to the tension, it is not without photographs that sometimes reach the bedrooms. As for the secret information obtained from “intelligence sources”, James Bond himself, with all his adventures, cannot obtain it. But an unknown, or perhaps non-existent, officer obtained it without you being told how.

Part of the matter is intended to “ventilate” desires, especially when it comes to “topics” related to cancer, or a mysterious disease that will soon lead to the death of its owner. Another aspect, called wishful thinking, is when one puts one’s desires in the place of facts, believing them to be the facts. A third aspect tends to be simpler, to practice pure resentment, which is what the reader can notice in the language that provides nothing to achieve its goal.

It doesn’t matter how brutal Putin is or a war criminal or anything else. This is not the case. The problem is that there are templates that are called up completely automatically, that use the same themes, but mainly bet on the short memory.

Sex, money and conspiracy theory. This is where most of the titles come from. All you need to fill in the blanks are “informed sources”, or James Bond who works for the newspaper.

There are only two ways to avoid falling victim to these methods; The first is not to lose your memory quickly, and the second is to look at the topic you are reading from the side of the template and not from the side of the text.

Cunning eyes read the news like a car mechanic. They look at the machine, note the structure and components to see how it works. As for the reader – the victim, he is nothing more than a passenger. He looks at the shape and some of the feelings that give him “toughness” and thinks that he is driving a new car.

The Western press sells used cars as new in more than 90 percent of its business. The same techniques are often used for tarring and tarring, as well as for polishing and decorating.

There is no editor-in-chief who does not have a drawer full of exaggerations and lies, which he uses whenever necessary, as if drawing from an inexhaustible treasure.

Just look at the techniques, and you’ll see what you haven’t seen before.

The claims of press freedom itself must be investigated. The Western press follows the foreign policy of their countries, regardless of whether it involves crimes or not. It is part of the functions of the “imperialist nation” whose sons are mobilized to fight its wars not in defense of the interests of a “class” as was the case in the past, but rather in defense of the interests of the whole “nation.” The “class”, enriched by conquests and colonialism, is no longer the only one to see the benefits. Social welfare and welfare systems, services and jobs have become part of those benefits, convincing the vast majority of citizens that the interests of their country is their interests, and that its crimes abroad are justified or tolerated. The Western press does nothing but reflect this vision. The story is no longer a story of a plundering class , but a story of people sharing in the spoils.

The media war between the two sides is of course at its most intense. But it has not reached the level of complete alienation, but they lie and justify in the same way. Each editor has a ready-to-load template.

All you need to be happy in this world is not to have a short memory, but to lose your memory.

You wake up every morning to see a new world that you are getting to know for the first time. You read newspapers in Moscow, and you believe them. And if you travel to Washington, London or Paris the next day, you will say: Oh God, how beautiful this world is.

Only those who suffer from hypermemory think that this is a dirty world.
