«Treasure of the Future» .. How does the state qualify young people to work in the technological sectors?

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today, Wednesday, inaugurated a number of “Digital Egypt” projects, which are implemented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

And within the state’s technology projects, the process of qualifying young people for the labor market, especially in the technology sector, with the help of modern means, and in accordance with the current requirements of business owners, which provides opportunities for young people of different nationalities to work in their entities.

The state is currently working on a 3-year initiative aimed at training one million young people to qualify for the labor market. Work during the current year 2022 targets 200,000 graduates from various universities, at a cost of EGP 1.1 billion, to be fully borne by the state.

Amr Talaat, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, told Al-Dustour in previous statements that the ministry has prepared a base of digital human cadres in the sciences of communication and information technology through a technical training strategy implemented according to a hierarchical approach . with investments of 1.1 billion pounds, to train 200,000 Apprentices during the current financial year, with a budget increase of 22 times and an increase in training preparation of 50 times compared to 3 years ago.

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology works to rehabilitate young people, through initiatives and projects aimed at building people, aimed at providing training opportunities to young people to enable them to enter the local and international labor market, which contribute to building a base of competences in ICT disciplines and building an existing digital society on science and technology.
The Ministry of Communications is keen to increase the competitiveness of the Egyptian competences, so it offers a comprehensive set of capacity building programs based on real experience.
Program curricula include courses in communications, software development, process improvement, basic skills courses, e-learning capabilities, and certification.
The Ministry has extensive resources to help ICT learners gain practical experience and develop deeper skills through a continuous learning process.

The Ministry of Communications’ training strategy also included a number of initiatives and programmes, namely:

Initiatives aimed at empowering young people in the labor market

The freelancer via the Internet and who take advantage of its many advantages to obtain excellent job opportunities from their places without being limited to the limits of the local market. This includes the “Our Digital Future” initiative with the aim of training 100,000 young people on self-employment skills in the fields of advanced and high demand information technology, in addition to the “Your Work” initiative. From your home” and the “Youth Empowerment for Self-Employment” grant, which aims to train 20,000 youth on self-employment skills through electronic platforms.

Digital learning initiatives by:

Implementation of the presidential initiative “Pioneers of future technology”; It is a digital platform to provide training in 45 training tracks in advanced technological disciplines in collaboration with major technology companies, with accredited certificates from international universities Award of an accredited certificate from the global platform “Udacity” for e-learning.

The launch of the digital platform “Maharah Tech” to train young people in a number of precise technological disciplines in Arabic through 10 tracks.

The launch of a distance learning platform targeting different segments of society in all parts of the country to spread digital culture in a safe and effective way, in collaboration with the Arab ICDL Foundation.

3- Providing intensive grants to train Egyptian youth within their governorates, including programs that match the identity of the businesses of the place of origin and in line with the industrial activity and the needs of each governorate.

4- Implementation of programs to build the digital capabilities of employees of the state administrative apparatus.

5- Job Tech initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity to link training programs with industry needs, which includes providing training on specialized technologies.

6- “Qudwa-Tech” initiative to support and empower Egyptian women who use information technology by supporting the skills of craft entrepreneurs in the field of digital marketing and e-commerce

7- An initiative to rehabilitate young recruits during their conscription period in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence.

This is in addition to launching an initiative to provide soft loans to finance laptops for trainees enrolled in various training programs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Also, advanced technological training programs in technological disciplines are implemented, including a specialized training program in artificial intelligence, in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer Science in France.

In support of the technical education system, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Telecom Egypt launched a school of applied technology for communication and information technology; To prepare a generation of qualified technical workers in modern technological disciplines.

In an effort to build a solid base of digital skills, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, established the Egypt Informatics University in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital to first university specialized in communication and information technology in Africa and the Middle East, where the study is scheduled to start The university during the next academic year in collaboration with major international universities specialized in these fields.

The Ministry also launched the “Builders of Digital Egypt” initiative, which is a government grant offered to a thousand outstanding young people from the faculties of engineering, computing and information, and is based on a vision of which the essence is to build highly specialized technical cadres. , through an intensive and integrated academic and practical program that achieves its impact on a degree Professional master’s degrees in the fields of artificial intelligence, data science, cyber security, robotics and automation, and digital arts, in addition to accredited training certificates from major global technology developers, as well as a certificate in leadership and management skills, and another in English from major global specialized companies.
