The conference included a session on the reality of cyber security in Jordan, in which the head of the National Center for Cyber Security, Engineer Bassam Maharema, and the cyber security expert, Mr. Raed Samour, spoke, and a session on the law. vacuum to face the challenges of this field, in which the legal expert on cyber security issues, dr. lawyer Muhammad Mahrema, founder of the cybercrime unit at the Directorate of Public Security, mr. Sahem Al-Jamal, as well as the cybersecurity session in banking and financial transactions, in which His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank, Mr Adel Sharkas, and representatives of the Jordan Banks Association spoke.
Given the close link between the telecommunications sector and cyber security, a session was dedicated to the discussion of the reality of cyber security in the telecommunications system in the Kingdom, with the participation of Orange Jordan, Director of Security Management and Protection of Digital Solutions Department in the company, Abeer Asaad, who emphasized the importance of advanced digital solutions and collaboration with various government and national institutions in maintaining cyber security, which has become an indispensable necessity locally and globally.
The session reviewed the most prominent available technologies, challenges and future trends in this field, especially in light of the development of digital communication and information systems, noting that 879 cyber attacks were recorded in Jordan in the year 2021.
