Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, visited Minya today, Monday, to inaugurate and inspect a number of the ministry’s projects within the “Decent Life” initiative in the towns of the governor.

The Minister began by holding an extensive meeting with the Governor, which was attended by the executive leaders in Minya Governorate and the leaders of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology at the Governor’s general office. During that time, they reviewed the latest work developments in communication, information technology and postal projects, digital capacity building and digital transformation, and discussed the latest developments in the Ministry’s projects in “a decent life” villages.

Dr. Amr Talaat praised the fruitful collaboration between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Minya Governor to support digital transformation efforts in the governorate, noting that Minya Governor sees a digital renaissance and commitment to all digital Egypt axes, which he confirmed possession of clear capabilities and frameworks that need to be invested and developed.

He pointed out that the people of Minya governorate are the first to work in projects to lay fiber optic cables in the governorate; Where he aimed to increase the number of trainees in the fiber optic network programs offered by the National Telecommunications Institute, and provide job opportunities to graduates of these programs to join the project of developing communication infrastructure and the maintenance and management of fiber optic cables provided by Telecom Egypt in the villages of a decent life in Minya Governorate.

He added that the visit will witness the inspection and opening of a number of the ministry’s projects in the villages of a decent life, including those related to the development of communication infrastructure, follow-up of the plan to mobile towers to publish, and the inspection. and the opening of a group of post offices after their development, in addition to a set of events related to the inspection of the activities and programs of the ministry in the field of the development of digital capabilities. , especially since human building is the cornerstone of Egypt’s digital strategy, noting that cooperation with Minya Governor will be increased during the coming period to achieve more productivity.

The protocol includes the qualification of more than 1,000 trainees as a first cohort at governor level in a number of disciplines, including the Internet of Things, data science, machine learning, networking, geographic information systems and fiber optic cables. Training programs are implemented at the National Telecommunications Institute branch of the Digital Egypt Creativity Center in Minya Governorate, with the possibility of implementing some courses through interactive distance learning.
The protocol also includes the provision of technical consultations in the field of geographic information systems, training of youth cadres in the field of infrastructure, information systems and digital transformation, as well as the support and development of technical cadres of local workers by qualifying them in the field of networks and cyber security, in addition to eligible recruits from Minya Governor for the job market in The field of communication and information technology.
Under the protocol; During the training period, the trainee receives an integrated program of specialized courses, as well as practical training according to the needs of the labor market in the field of communication and information technology, and qualifies for the acquisition of international certificates for international companies in some courses. A group of cadres will also be trained to later qualify them to be certified trainers.
The protocol was signed by dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, deputy governor of Minya, and Dr. Iman Ashour, director of the National Telecommunications Institute.

An open dialogue took place between Dr. Amr Talaat and a number of young people from the governorate who received the Ministry’s training programs at the Digital Egypt Creativity Center; Dr. Amr Talaat also listened to the experiences of a number of young graduates of the training programs offered by the Digital Egypt Creativity Center.

In his speech, Dr. Amr Talaat emphasizes that the strategy of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology aims to establish a Digital Egypt innovation center in each governorate with investments of 4.2 billion pounds. He called on young people to follow up on the rest of the initiatives launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and complete the process of learning and development to keep pace with global technological developments.

Engineer Amr Mahfouz, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority, indicated that more than 2,600 young people have been trained in the programs offered by the authority in the Digital Egypt Innovation Center in Minya. In addition, 70 start-up companies at all stages were incubated, including those that succeeded in obtaining investments.
Dr. Heba Saleh, Director of the Information Technology Institute, explained that more than 2,000 young people have been trained in the institute’s programs at the Digital Egypt Innovation Center in Minya, and that young people have enrolled in programs to develop self-employment skills, earning returns through freelance platforms with about 26 thousand dollars, before they graduated from the award.
Dr. Eman Ashour, Director of the National Telecommunications Institute, reviewed the institute’s efforts within the Digital Egypt Creativity Center in Minya, where nearly 1,500 young people have been trained.
