Port Said governor reviews the proposed projects within the green and smart projects initiative

Major General Adel Ghadban, governor of Port Said, held an extensive meeting to review and discuss the proposed projects for Port Said governorate within the national initiative for green and smart projects in the governorates of Egypt, within the framework of the launch of the national initiative for smart green projects in the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, which coincides with the national efforts to host Egypt for the 27th session. For the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and in implementing Egypt’s 2030 vision and achieving sustainable development, which is an unprecedented initiative globally that focuses on implementation and application on the ground with seriousness to the deal with the environmental dimension and climate change by presenting projects that achieve sustainable development goals and digital transformation, the Existence of a map at the governorate level for green and smart projects, linking them to funding bodies and attracting the necessary investments for them.

This came in the presence of Eng Amr Othman, Deputy Governor, Major General Atef Wagdy, Secretary General to the Governor, Abdel Azim Ramadan, Assistant Secretary General, Major General Youssef Al-Shahed, Governor Adviser to projects and technical matters, dr. Farid Muharram, Governors Adviser for Government and Financial Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Hanafy, and Dr. Heba Suleiman, Coordinator of the University and Entities Specialized in Port Said Governor.

The Port Said governor listened to the details of the proposed projects for progress within the National Initiative for Green and Smart Projects, which included projects for the development of roads, relying on solar energy, projects for the treatment of sewage plants and their use for agriculture, projects for tertiary treatment plants, and initiatives for recycling solid waste in a technological way that preserves the environment, the initiative to plant rooftops in residential areas, the digital alliance project for civil society institutions, and others.

The governor of Port Said emphasized that the projects that will be presented within the initiative must be worthy of Port Said governor and the sustainable development plan that it observes, and the best projects will be selected by the competent committee, then a feasibility study will be done. carried out for them, until they are presented within the initiative, emphasizes the importance of cooperation between the relevant and competent authorities in the governorate To offer an honorable job worthy of Port Said and the Egyptian state, pointing out that the various projects that have taken place in Port Said achieve clean environment standards, referring to the projects that have contributed to the upgrading of Port Said governorate, whether in the south, west or east, in addition to the current expansions in the new cities in Port Said and industrial areas.

The governor of Port Said directed the work of a feasibility study and project planning to maximize the utilization of the capabilities and resources available at Port Said, and to achieve the desired goals of the initiative. and communication technology within the framework of the state plan for digital transformation, empowering all governors of Egypt, reaching different social and geographic groups, and spreading societal awareness about the challenges of climate change and the capabilities of modern technologies, while women empowered in the field. of facing the challenges of climate change, environment, and the integration of all spectrums of society in finding solutions to the challenges of climate and environmental change.

The proposed projects include duration and planning, both for small local projects (especially related to the Good Life initiative) and projects submitted by start-up companies, development projects related to women, climate change and sustainability, and non-profit community initiatives and participation .

It is worth noting that the projects submitted to the competition must be in one of the six categories for all project categories (the following component: large companies, medium projects, small local projects, start-ups, women, climate change and sustainability, non-profit community initiatives and participation, and includes green evaluation criteria – The technological/smart component – reproducibility – impact) and the criterion for the evaluation of empowerment and equal opportunities is added to the category of projects related to women, climate change and sustainability.
