Helwan National University has announced the launch of the EID Environmental Interior Design program at the Faculty of Applied Arts.
Dr. Maysoon Kotb explained that the undergraduate program consists of 5 levels (divided into 10 semesters), and it is an academic program with tuition fees, with a credit hour system, and the study is carried out in English, in cooperation and partnership with the Interior Design and Environmental Architecture Program – Ravensborn University in London, on The aspects of collaboration must be in sustainable design decisions and modern trends.
Dr. Maysoon Qutb indicated that the Environmental Interior Design Program is a scientific field that includes a mix of interior design sciences for different spaces (residential – commercial – administrative – tourism) and connects it with the natural, social, cultural and physical environment.
This program studies how to solve all interior design and furniture problems, in accordance with the general goals of sustainable development advocated by the United Nations, to create an interior space that serves the various life functions of people, interacting with human needs and which all applied applications use. art in the aesthetic and functional organization to create an appropriate interior environment, or Reuse of the design of existing spaces, based on specialized human, ergonomic and technological studies.
The creative and technological orientation of the program is supported by preparing students for the real technical world, the ability to apply scientific methods, professional practices, consumer knowledge and professional ethics.
Design projects, which are implemented in workshops, laboratories and university studios, are among the basic principles of the program, which reflect the working environment of the profession. The program also offers unparalleled opportunities for external training in institutions specialized in environmental design.
The vision of the program is as follows:
Achieving integration and coordination between interior design and the sustainable environment by opening areas and sources of innovation and creativity faced in accordance with international quality standards, while keeping track of the developments and changes of the local, regional and global labor market.
The program’s mission is to prepare qualified human cadres of designers in the field of interior and environmental design, in accordance with the environmental trend in design, to achieve harmonious integration between interior design with all its elements and the surrounding environment in light of sustainability standards and comprehensive sustainable quality.
The program aims to:
Empowering the student with the skills of integrative design of environmental interior design with all its elements, the external and internal environment in line with environmental sustainability.
Promote the idea of integration and coordination between the internal and external environment and fill the design gaps between them to achieve competitive value
Preservation of the cultural, historical, social and economic contexts of the local, Arab and international community, and comprehensive design according to these contexts.
To provide the student with design and implementation skills using traditional and modern techniques.
Achieving standards of creativity, design and innovation in environmental interior design with all its elements to achieve environmental sustainability.
Develop and develop experimental research at the level of ideas, techniques and materials.
Communicate with beneficiaries at the level of consulting offices and contracting companies to exchange experiences.
