Madhoukh that the idea of establishing the Advisory Council for Communication and Information Technology within the framework of government efforts to develop the administrative apparatus and achieve development goals, pointing out that the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology was formed in January. 2022, based on the system of advisory boards for government departments issued by the Government Action Follow-up Committee in December 2021.
Madhoukh explained that the tasks of the Advisory Council are to propose visions and perceptions related to the field of work of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, to propose policies and mechanisms necessary to achieve the goals of the ICT sector. achieve, to work on expressing opinion. and advice and to provide recommendations on issues presented to the Council relating to the ICT sector, and to represent Stakeholders in the field of information and communication technology, discuss their perceptions and interests, and contribute to the strengthening of coordination between the various stakeholders in the field of information and communication technology.

Maddokh spoke about the most important achievements of the Ministry of Communications during the year 2022, the most important of which is the completion of the postal coding project in the southern governorates, the introduction of the unified government communication system (161) to facilitate access to government electronic services, and the launch of the award for the best smart digital transformation in the private sector for the year 2022 AD under the slogan “Towards a society” Digital, and the launch of the “Hukoomi” application on smart devices, which is an integrated window for all government transactions and data for citizens, and the launch of the national campaign to combat addiction on the Internet, social networking sites and electronic games.
He added that the ministry worked to improve the field of remote work through the ministry’s participation with the relevant ministries in the preparation of a strategy for remote work, the formation of the National Council for Remote Work, and the launch of a project to integrate graduates into the labor market, which targets in its first phase 100 graduates and will be followed by multiple stages, and the rehabilitation of a company. He mentioned the main challenges posed by the occupation, which is a major obstacle to the promotion of the information and communication technology sector through the occupation’s control of the Palestinian frequency spectrum, and the failure to use it to provide the services provided is to be developed, especially in the field of mobile communication, and the use of advanced generations third, fourth and fifth generation mobile communication, and control Occupation at the intersections and limitation of the introduction of modern devices and technologies.

The meeting included two sessions, the first one by dr. Tawfiq Barhoum, entitled “Ways to confront the challenges facing the information and communication technology sector in Palestine”, and led the second session by Ing. Ziad Al-Sheikh Al-Deeb was titled “How to Leverage Information and Communication Technology to Serve Society in the Age of the Digital Economy.” The meeting also has many main themes and important interventions in the framework of the development of the essential and important sector for the role of the ICT Advisory Council through the participation of active elites in the field of information and communication technology, exchange of opinions and ideas and the promotion of this sector.
