The organizing committee of the Award for Scientific Excellence has announced the details of the sixteenth edition of the award, as registration will open from 10 to 13 October of the same month.

Ali Al-Buainain, CEO of the Scientific Excellence Award, revealed that a set of developmental changes have been made regarding the award criteria for the different categories, explaining that the primary stage saw 4 changes, the first of which was the third clause was. of the participation conditions, which determined that the student had to have achieved 95% or more of the average. For the last three years, after the amendment, the student had to have achieved 95% or more of the third, fourth and fifth grade average. and private school students must attach an equivalence book issued by the Ministry of Education for the three years.

He said that the other amendment was made to the first criterion of personality traits related to leadership, which states that “the inventory of leadership activities undertaken by the student during the three years in the primary stage for the third, fourth and fifth grades ” must be. “an inventory of the leadership activities undertaken by the student, either for the third, fourth and fifth grades (three roles). maximum) and it is permissible to include more than one leadership role for one year.

He explained that the second criterion in capacity and skill development was related to the attendance of the Learning Resource Center, which stipulated that “the repair and reading of not less than 3 books and the submission of a summary of not less than 500 words and not more than 1,000 words for each book, ” so that the new text “which will recall and read not Less than 3 books and a summary of 300 words for each book, including an introduction, an outline and a conclusion, and the book card should be added that the book’s title and the author’s name of the Redeemer.

As for the fourth criterion regarding competitions and prizes, Al-Buainain says that it changed from “restrictive competitions in which the student participated” to “restrictive competitions in which the student participated, directly or virtually.”

The CEO of the award said that the secondary stage category witnessed an addition to a criterion that did not previously exist within the personal characteristics, the necessity to have a book or certificate from the school or institution in which the leadership role taken, and a one-page report explaining the student’s leadership role, including photographs if possible.

In the Distinguished School category, he explained that it witnessed 3 changes, the first of which was in the first criterion related to educational leadership and management, which states “the existence of a clear and stated strategic plan linked to the strategy of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education,” where this criterion was deleted and merged with the second criterion to “the existence of a strategic plan.” or to be managed annually.

The second change, according to Al-Buainain, also occurred in the first criterion related to educational leadership and management in the part that states that “the existence of an alternative plan for crisis management and the confrontation of disasters and emergency situations” is to “the existence of a plan or procedures for continuing work, managing crises and confronting disasters and emergencies.” He added that the second criterion related to the management of financial and in-kind resources, which stipulates “implementation of special programs for the development of financial and in-kind resources”, has been deleted.

On how to apply, Al-Buainain explained that schools are responsible for approving all applications for candidacy for the “Distinguished Teacher” award from their teachers, and that each school wishing to compete can nominate itself for the Distinguished School Award, adding that schools approve. applications from their students for the “Distinguished Student” award “In its three categories, and “Outstanding Scientific Research for High School Students”, in addition to submitting the award through the electronic link for applications for candidacy for the award.

Al-Buainain stated that the introductory meetings for the nine categories of the award will start from today, Tuesday, through workshops held in the Ministry and Excellence Building, and will continue until tomorrow, Wednesday, while the arbitration of files from October 14 will begin. to 17 November 2022, and the results will be delivered on 20 November, so that the results will be approved during the period from 27 November. Until December 11.

He indicated that the results would be announced on 13, 14 or 15 January, and that a special exhibition for the Award for Scientific Excellence would be held later during the period from 1 February to 10 March, while the award would be presented on 1 March will be. 2023. Ali Al Buainain also spoke about the role of the ambassadors of scientific excellence in the new session, emphasizing that the ambassadors of scientific excellence are a group of distinguished people who keep track and continue their life path with distinction in all fields. and improve their creativity.

He pointed out that the ambassadors of excellence will have active roles, coinciding with the hosting of the 2022 World Cup, to introduce visitors to the aspects of excellence of our youth.
