Emirates Airlines and United announced that they have reached a historic partnership agreement that will expand their networks and allow their customers to easily access hundreds of new destinations, within the United States and around the world.
From November 2022, Emirates customers traveling to Chicago, San Francisco and Houston, three of the largest business centers in the United States, will be able to easily continue their flights with United to and from approximately 200 cities across the Americas with a single ticket.
As for the other eight US airports served by Emirates Airlines (Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, Orlando, Seattle and Washington, DC), Emirates and United will be linked to Interline arrangements.
United will launch a new direct flight between New York and Dubai from March 2023, enabling its customers to travel to more than 100 cities with Emirates Airlines or its sister, flydubai. Tickets for this flight are now on sale.
Today, Emirates Airlines and United announced their agreement at a ceremony at Dulles International Airport, hosted by Scott Kirby, CEO of United, and Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, the two airlines.

Customers of both airlines will soon be able to book connecting flights with a single ticket, making check-in and baggage transfer faster and easier. For example, travelers can visit united.com, use the United app to book a flight from New York Newark to Karachi (Pakistan) or go to emirates.com to book a flight from Dubai to Atlanta or Honolulu.
The agreement also offers members of the loyalty program of both service providers more opportunities to obtain rewards. Emirates Skywards members will be able to earn miles when traveling on United-operated flights. United Mileage Plus members traveling on a United flight from New York, Newark to Dubai can also earn and spend miles when continuing their journey on Emirates Airlines and flydubai.
Eligible customers traveling on codeshare flights enjoy access to Emirates Airlines and United lounges. More details on the frequent flyer awards and lounge share benefits will be announced in the coming weeks.
Both carriers have recently announced significant investments in customer experience. Emirates will refurbish more than 120 aircraft under a $2 billion investment, which includes a wider choice of meals, a brand new vegetarian menu, an “in-flight cinema” experience, cabin upgrades, as well as sustainable options. United, in turn, will add 500 new Boeing and Airbus aircraft to its fleet, with a focus on a new interior design that includes screens at every seat, larger overhead lockers and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as the fastest Wi-Fi in the include air.
