“Arab businesswomen” elect a new board of directors for the seventh term 2022-2026

The General Assembly of the Council of Arab Businesswomen held its meeting for the seventh session 2022-2026 of the League of Arab States in the presence of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Abul Ghaith, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry and Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary General today, Thursday 29 September 2022.

All members of the General Assembly of the Arab Businesswomen Council, which she has led since its inception and establishment in September 1999, Her Highness Sheikha Dr. Hessa Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, participated in the meeting, and a large number of Arab countries participated in the meeting: Kuwait – Bahrain – Oman – United Arab Emirates – Saudi Arabia – Sudan – Yemen – Egypt – Syria – Jordan – Lebanon – Palestine – Iraq – Tunisia – Algeria – Libya – Morocco – and Mauritania

Arab countries were represented by a large number of businesswomen, investors, economists and bankers, dignitaries, experts and consultants in the economic, financial and investment fields, following the agenda prepared for the meeting of the General Assembly, which welcomed the members by the Secretary General of the Council, Khayriyah Abdullah Al-Dashti, the speech of the President of the Council, Her Highness Sheikha Dr. Hessa Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, a speech by Dr. Haifa Abu-Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States for Social Affairs, and thanks and gratitude for participation, attendance, belonging and loyalty to this Council and its remarkable donation.

The new members and the old members got to know each other about the name, the country and the economic and commercial field practiced by the members. The Council’s administrative report for the sixth session 2022-2026 was also presented by the Secretary-General of the Council, in which all the activities and participations of the Council and the positive role that the Council provided to the community in general and businesswomen , the economy and trade in particular.

The financial secretary, Carmen Zughaib of Lebanon, presented the report prepared by the BDO Accounting and Financial Audit Company in the Kingdom of Bahrain with a financial presentation of the cash available accounts in the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait in the two currencies, the Bahraini dinar and the US dollar, and the board’s current investments, and a detail and presentation of the deposits by the Khaleeji Commercial Bank.

The members of the General Assembly thanked the previous board of directors for their giving and its role in upgrading and promoting the board, and the names nominated for the new elections for the seventh session 2022-2026 were presented, which led led to the victory of a large number of Arab businesswomen with an amazing geographical spread that included all Arab countries.
