Named after the three gas brothers who own it, this boutique property comprises three first-class Georgian townhouses.

Bars with rooms are becoming trendy, and Duke is no exception. Georgie and Sam Pearman’s 17th-century inn rooms have a country-chic feel. Grill meat and fish on cherry wood and apple wood. You can sit at the table and watch the chef in action. The bar attracts a charming crowd of locals and weekend getaways.

Since Robin Hutson opened his first hotel in 2011, many pigs have appeared in the world. All are special, but this seed sourced its ingredients from an area within a 25 mile radius (about 25 miles) and from its own garden. The spirit is hip rather than hoppy, and there’s nothing sizzling about a shabby interior.

The beautiful interiors are designed for relaxation, with mossy, earthy tones that reflect the surrounding countryside.

Overlooking Badcall Bay, this place was a youth hostel in the 1950s, but as you might imagine, it’s a far cry from the hostel world of lumpy beds and lumpy porridge. Cream tea is served in the conservatory, the bar has 60 malt whiskeys and the menu changes every night. Some rooms even overlook the lake.
