The visit of His Majesty the Jordanian monarch to the country is the culmination of the march of bilateral relations, the strengthening of coordination and consultation between the two countries on various issues and the opening of new horizons for joint cooperation. Arab and international events, especially the developments of the Palestinian cause and the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people and the Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem, in addition to the latest developments and repercussions of the war in Ukraine.
It is expected that the visit of the King of Jordan to the country will contribute to increasing coordination, communication and consultation between the two countries on various current issues and files, and to support and strengthen bilateral relations and expand them to wider areas of cooperation and interaction in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries and the Arab nation and its rights and crucial issues.
The bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and Jordan, since their inception at the level of ambassadors fifty years ago, specifically in 1972, have witnessed great development and growth in all fields, and at all levels, especially economic and commercial, thanks the wise visions of the leaderships of the two countries, until they became a model for Arab relations that work to serve Security and stability issues in the region.
Relations between Doha and Amman have been strengthened through a series of mutual summit-level visits. In this context, His Highness the Emir visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in March 2014, and in March 2017 to attend the Arab Summit in its twenty-eighth. session held in Amman. His Highness also visited Jordan in February. 2020, and His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein has made many visits to the State of Qatar, the most recent of which was His Majesty’s visit to Doha last November to attend the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and His Majesty ‘s visit to the country in October 2021.
Jordanian-Qatari coordination also takes place at the highest levels in relation to important regional affairs, especially the Palestinian cause, the peace process and the fight against terrorism, as well as encouraging the peaceful settlement of international disputes, supporting the right of peoples to self-determination, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, and cooperation with peace-loving nations. .
Over the years, relations between the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have seen momentum in the exchange of official visits by ministers, senior officials, businessmen and trade and economic delegations, leading to the signing of a number of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding that strengthen the strong bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

These agreements and memoranda of understanding cover bilateral cooperation in the military, security, law, customs and investment fields, mutual protection of investments, mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and private passports, the media, health, culture, youth, sports, air and sea transport , double taxation, municipal affairs and tourism cooperation experience between the two countries.
In an indication of the specificity, depth and distinction of the Qatari-Jordanian relations, the initiative of His Highness the Emir of the country came in June 2018 to provide twenty thousand jobs in the State of Qatar for Jordanian youth and invest $500 million . in infrastructure and tourism projects in Jordan, which will revitalize the Jordanian economy and contribute to its sustainable development.
In addition to official activities, the private sector in the two countries is working to improve bilateral cooperation in various business sectors, and the two sides exchange visits on a regular basis to build real economic partnerships that reflect the strength of existing relations and meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The volume of trade exchange between Qatar and Jordan reached about 624 million Qatari riyals in 2021, and the two countries look forward to developing cooperative relations by activating the joint business council, intensifying mutual visits and holding meetings aimed at all discuss ways to joint cooperation, increase trade exchange and promote joint economic relations.
The State of Qatar is one of the largest countries investing in Jordan, as its investments there have risen to more than $4.5 billion, spread among the sectors of real estate, hotels, tourism services, banking, health and energy, in addition to investments in the industrial sectors and oil derivatives, of which $550 million is for the Qatari private sector, and $950 million in the private sector. The financial market and the Amman Stock Exchange, and the rest of the investments are spread across various sectors. Qatari investments in the field of energy have expanded over the past years and in various areas, notably the East Amman Power Plant, and the project to generate electricity from solar photovoltaic cells (Shams Maan Project) implemented by Nebras Energy Company has been implemented. It is a Qatari-Japanese investment. built on an area of ​​two million square meters.
About 15 companies fully owned by Jordanians operate in the Qatari market, while the number of joint Qatari-Jordanian companies operating in Qatar has reached about 1,550 companies, operating in various sectors, especially trade, contracting, construction, interior design, maintenance, organizing conferences, real estate brokers, services, education, carpentry, ready-made kitchens, and others.
In terms of exports and imports between the two countries, they are concentrated in various sectors, as Jordan imports from Qatar oils, liquefied gas, fertilizers, cement preparations, pipes, polyethylene and polymers, while Qatar imports plant products, live animals, chemical industries, medicines, vegetables , air conditioners, food, marble, phosphates, potash and medical preparations.
